Affiliates Information

What are Affiliates?

Affiliates are species that have been pre-approved to interact in Gaia's World. These species have been reviewed and deemed compatible with the World of Gaia's lore and setting, allowing them to be included in various types of submissions while maintaining the world's canonical integrity.

PT Bonuses for Character Inclusion

Including different types of characters in your submissions provides varying PT bonuses:

  • OC Inclusion (Not ARPG, Non-Affiliate): +50 PT
  • OC Inclusion (Not ARPG, Affiliate): +100 PT
  • OC Inclusion (ARPG, Non-Affiliate): +400 PT
  • OC Inclusion (ARPG, Affiliate): +800 PT

As you can see, affiliate species provide double the PT bonus compared to non-affiliates, and ARPG characters provide significantly higher bonuses than regular OCs.

Understanding Character Types

OCs (Original Characters)

OCs are species or characters that have not been vetted for World of Gaia compatibility. While OCs are always allowed in simple quests and general art, their presence is considered non-canon to the world.

Generic Species Exception: If your OC belongs to a "generic species" such as centaurs, unicorns, elves, demons, or other basic fantasy species, they are allowed in all activities and could be included in lore submissions since they could feasibly exist in Gaia's World already. However, generic species OCs do not count for the affiliate bonus.

Affiliates and ARPG Species

Affiliates are species that have been officially approved and vetted for inclusion in Gaia's World. They can participate in all submission types, including lore-heavy content, without breaking canon.

Characters from other ARPGs (Art Role-Playing Games) receive higher bonuses, with the highest bonuses reserved for characters from affiliate ARPG species. Not all ARPGs will be lore friendly with World of Gaia, so if they aren't an approved Affiliate you should ask before including them in any lore-based activities.

Submission Requirements

To qualify for affiliate bonuses, you must include a direct link to the character in the description of your gallery submission. Links placed only in the comments of prompt submissions will not count toward the bonus. Additionally, the URL must be publicly accessible so moderators can verify the character information during review.

It's important to note that non-affiliate species may not be allowed in certain types of prompt submissions. Lore submissions are particularly restrictive due to potential conflicts with World of Gaia's established lore and rules, and canon events maintain strict requirements to preserve world consistency. Always carefully review individual prompt requirements before including non-affiliate characters in your submissions.

How Species Become Affiliates

Species can become affiliates through an approval process overseen by Wolvenhyde, who carefully evaluates each species based on several key factors. The primary consideration is lore compatibility - how well the species' background and established history fits within the World of Gaia's existing framework. Potential world conflicts also are taken into consideration, determining whether the species' lore contradicts or creates inconsistencies with Gaia's established canon, as well as assessing how naturally the species could integrate into the game's setting.

Species with lore that directly conflicts with World of Gaia's established setting are unlikely to be approved as affiliates, as maintaining the world's internal consistency and canonical integrity is a top priority in the approval process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What if I'm unsure whether a qualifies as an affiliate? A: Check the official affiliate species list at the bottom of this page. If the species isn't listed, it's non-affiliate, but you can always apply to have it affiliated!

Q: Can I suggest a species to become an affiliate? A: If you are the owner of the species, then yes, you can apply! If you're not the owner, you may suggest it but unless we get many recommendations from multiple users or the owner of said species reaches out it is not likely.

Q: Is there a limit to the number of species I can apply for being an affiliate? A: Not currently, however if you submit too many at once we might give you a warning.

Q: Do I get bonuses for including multiple affiliate characters? A: Yes, the bonus stacks per character.

Q: What happens if my affiliate bonus wasn't applied? A: Ensure your character link is in the gallery description (not comments) and is publicly accessible. Contact moderators if it was rolled incorrectly.

Q: Can generic species ever become affiliates? A: Generic species are already allowed in all activities, but they don't provide bonuses as they're considered basic fantasy elements rather than unique affiliate species.

Q: What do I do if my submission was rejected due to a non affiliate in the submission? A: If your prompt submission is rejected due to character inclusion it's because the species the character is apart of conflicts with the lore of Gaia's World. You can try resubmitting it as a generic species instead of an OC, or submit to a different prompt.

These species are affiliated with the group and will receive bonuses in art that include them. We encourage you check them out, not only for the bonus but because they're all neat species you might enjoy!
