Player Settings Information

The Settings page is your control center for managing your account preferences, profile information, and account security. You can access Settings by clicking on your username in the top navigation and selecting "Settings" from the dropdown menu.

Avatar

Your profile image is the first thing other players see when they interact with you. The avatar upload accepts .png, .jpeg, and .gif file types. While the system may display a warning about gif files causing errors, the upload typically works correctly. If you upload a gif and don't see it immediately, navigate back to your profile page and perform a hard refresh by pressing Ctrl + F5 on your keyboard to clear your browser cache.

Avatar borders add a decorative frame around your profile picture. Select any available border from the dropdown menu and click Edit to apply it. Below the selection area is a place that previews all borders with your current avatar to allow you to choose which border you'd like at a glance.

For now there are only 7 borders available by default, one for each of the three species on the site and 1 for each season. Additional borders can be unlocked through regular gameplay activities. You can view all borders here. Please note that locked borders say you have unlocked them, even if you haven't. This is a visual bug, they are not actually unlocked unless they appear in your settings.

Profile

The profile section lets you share information about yourself with other players. You can include personal interests, contact information for commissions, or anything else you'd like others to know. Basic HTML and CSS formatting is supported, though there are limits on what the site can show, so double check your profile after editing to make sure your profile is actually showing how you want it to. All profile content must remain appropriate for a PG-13 audience, and administrators will remove content that violates this guideline.

Designer and Artist Settings

The User Design Terms section is specifically for players who create import designs for others or design characters then sell or trade them. When you design a character, your terms will automatically display on that character's profile page. You can set specific permissions here, such as requiring the character to be redesigned before it can be sold or transferred, or if you are willing to edit the designs in the future for legality. This protects your artistic work and ensures your design preferences are respected even after the character changes hands.

Privacy and Birthday Settings

The Birthday Publicity section controls how much of your birthday information other players can see. You can choose to keep it completely private, show only the month, or display the full date. Your birthday cannot be changed through the settings page, but if you entered incorrect information during registration, submit an Admin Request to have it corrected.

The system automatically awards you a special birthday crate on the first day of your birth month. We will also give people a Birthday Coupon that takes 50% off a purchase, but for this you need to submit an admin request or have your birthday set on the Discord Server through Meep. Birthday Coupons need to be used soon after being given them, if we notice you still have it after a couple months it will be removed, so even if it feels a little pointless to use it for something small, it's better to use it and lose it.

Account Security

Username Changes

Username changes are available once every 30 days. When you change your username, the system creates a public log showing your name history, which helps other players recognize you after the change. This transparency prevents confusion and maintains community connections.

Email Changes

Email address changes can be made at any time through the settings page. After changing your email, you may need to verify the new address depending on your account status.

Password Changes and Recovery

You can update your password in the designated password change section at the bottom of the settings page, but you must enter your current password to authorize the change. Choose a strong password that combines letters, numbers, and special characters for maximum security. If you don't remember your password, you can request a password reset in the login page, and it will send you an email.

If you don't remember the email you used, you can message an admin for help.

Account Verification and Aliases

Setting up a Primary Alias is required to access all site features. Without verification through either deviantArt or Toyhouse, your account remains limited and cannot access key gameplay elements like designing characters or participating in certain activities. You must be logged into your chosen platform when linking your account.

You can connect multiple accounts from both platforms and switch your primary alias at any time. Any linked aliases you prefer to keep private (Except your primary) can be hidden from other players while still maintaining your account verification status.

Bookmarks

The bookmark system helps you track interesting characters owned by other players without sending them any notifications. Add bookmarks by visiting a character's profile page and clicking the Bookmark button in the top right corner. You cannot bookmark characters you own, but if a bookmarked character gets transferred to you, the bookmark remains until you manually remove it.

Why you bookmark a character is entirely up to you, but some examples of reasons people might bookmark characters is to find them easier, check activity on occasion, or to save them for summoning or gift art purposes.

Organizing Characters

Characters (But not genos) can be organized in whatever order you want, but the first 4 at the top will be the ones that show on your profile. You can create as many folders as you desire, and organize those characters in the folders. Use drag and drop to move characters around, and make sure to hit the save button after any changes are made.

If you have any characters outside of folders, they will be in their own default folder called 'unorganized' on your list of characters.

Referral System

The referral program rewards players who bring new members to the community. When someone creates an account using your username as their referrer, you'll receive rewards once their first import gets approved or they adopt a pre-designed character. Make sure new players know to select your name from the referrer dropdown during registration.

Account Deactivation and Recovery

Account deactivation temporarily removes your profile from public view while preserving your data for potential future reactivation. Complete account deletion is not available due to how character ownership and site data interconnect with other players' accounts and activities.

When deactivating, you can specify what should happen to your characters and inventory items. We recommend at minimum giving a reason for your deactivation and specifying not to decease your characters, especially if you thing you may eventually return. If no instructions are provided, spirits will be disabled and marked as deceased, and hidden from public view after one week once an admin notices your deactivation. Items will not be touched unless specified otherwise. Genos and Centaurians will be hidden from view but not disabled. We are happy to not hide characters from public view if you ask in the deactivation comments, but they will be at minimum disabled to prevent people doing gift art of a character whose owner isn't around.

Reactivation is possible at any time by logging back into your account. Contact administrators if you need help restoring characters or items that were affected during your deactivation period. Characters marked as deceased will need a Revival Essence.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

If you encounter 404 errors while navigating pages, this typically indicates a page has been moved, an incorrect link, or an deleted/disabled prompt, shop, or page. DM an admin if you have any issues.

Changes to avatar borders, profile information, import images, or site images may take a few minutes to appear due to caching. If changes don't appear immediately, wait a few minutes and hard refresh the page with CTRL-F5.
