What is Summoning?
Summoning is a process that creates new genotypes similar to breeding, but with important differences. Unlike breeding, where the result is based off the parents, summoning produces a semi-randomized geno that may pull traits and markings from the summoning participants. The resulting geno could look completely different from the summoners, making each summon an exciting surprise.
Outside of summoning, players can also participate in Spirit Unveiling up to 3 times per month. This alternative allows you to submit items for a completely random genotype without using specific characters to have a character unrelated to any other characters.
Basic Summoning Requirements
Character Eligibility
To use a Kijikaiaku or Subtalleon in a summon, you must have completed at least one art or literature piece featuring that character, created for a prompt or activity rather than general art/literature.
Artwork must be a fullbody piece with color, and cannot be a rough sketch with visible guidelines. Halfbodies do not qualify for summoning eligibility.
Literature must be 500+ words, with the character in question in the majority if not all the piece as the main character or focus.
Characters are eligible to summon after meeting these requirements.
Summoning Limits
You can include up to 5 Subtalleons and/or Kijikaiaku in a single summon. Each character can only participate in summoning a maximum of 4 times per month, regardless of their cooldown. Subtalleons and Kijikaiaku cooldowns depend on their individual stamina stats, active boosts, and equipped items. Check the character's page in the description under their stats for specific cooldown information.
Centaurians have a fixed 1-week cooldown period for their breeding.
Players receive 25 summoning points monthly, which reset each month and do not carry over. Point costs are based on the number of spirits involved:
- Single spirit summons: 2 points (requires Gaia's/Yile's Summoning III)
- Two spirits: 3 points
- Three spirits: 5 points
- Four spirits: 8 points
- Five spirits: 10 points
Your submission will be rejected if you lack sufficient points for your desired summon.
Required Items
Different summoning methods require different core items:
Core Soul or Twin Core Soul: Requires at least two spirits attached, with at least one being a Kijikaiaku. Makes a Kijikaiaku or two.
Unhatched Egg: Requires at least two spirits attached, with at least one being a Subtalleon. Makes a Subtalleon or two.
Gaia's Summoning or Yile's Summoning: Allows summoning without the above two items but carries a 33% failure risk, and cannot be used for cross summons. Having the Tainted Boost can decrease this failure chance:
- Tainted Tier 1: 25% failure chance
- Tainted Tier 2: 10% failure chance
- Tainted Tier 3: 0% failure chance
Cross Summoning
Cross summons (mixing Kijikaiaku and Subtalleons) require either a Core Soul or Unhatched Egg. Gaia's and Yile's Summoning cannot be used for cross summons.
Optional Enhancement Items
Kokoro's Scrolls
Kokoro's Scrolls boost your summon's Luck stat by 50 points each. You can attach up to three scrolls per summon for a maximum Luck increase of 150 points. Higher Luck improves your chances of getting desirable outcomes in the summoning process.
Other Enhancement Items
You may attach additional items, boosts, or familiars to enhance your summoning results. There is no limit to how many items you can attach, but make sure to read the item descriptions carefully. When items affect only one spirit, specify which spirit they're being applied to in your submission.
Splicing
If you want to splice one or both resulting genotypes, you must specify this intention when submitting your summon request. Attach the required Spliced trait(s) along with your Core Soul or Unhatched Egg, and clearly state which genotype should be spliced (first, second, or both).
When a genotype naturally becomes spliced during the summoning process, any excess Splice traits you attached will be returned to you. Splicing a character after the sommon has been rolled is highly discouraged as admins have to re-roll the summon.
Solo Summoning
Characters with Gaia's Summoning III (Kijikaiaku) or Yile's Summoning III (Subtalleons) can attempt solo summons. These solo attempts carry the same 33% chance of complete failure as regular Gaia's/Yile's summoning, meaning you lose your items without receiving a result.
You cannot use additional items like Core Souls or Unhatched Eggs to bypass this failure chance when using these special abilities. The only way to completely eliminate the failure risk is to have the Tainted Tier 3 boost in addition to the summoning ability.
Using Someone Else's Spirits
Before including another player's spirit or an NPC in your summon, you must obtain their permission and receive a Summon Permission Slip. When submitting your summon request, attach this permission slip along with your Core Soul or Unhatched Egg and other required items.
Granting Permission to Others
To allow another player to use your spirits in their summons, submit an admin request with the following information:
- The recipient's username
- Your character's ID number and profile link
- Whether the permission expires or has special conditions
- Any restrictions on usage (there are no general pairing restrictions unless specified in your permission slip)
You can grant permissions for multiple characters to multiple players in a single request, but provide clear details to avoid confusion or misinterpretation. If your instructions are too unclear, there’s a chance your request may be declined or misinterpreted.
Submitting Your Summon
Every summon submission must include:
- Character Information: Include the URL or character code for each character participating in the summon within the description field (not the character field). Missing this crucial information will result in rejection.
- Summoning Item: Either a Core Soul, Twin Core Soul, or Unhatched Egg (unless using Gaia's/Yile's Summoning, which must be specified)
- Permission Slips: Any necessary Summon Permission Slips for characters you don't own (attach in Consumables)
- Additional Details: Provide any relevant details about items, boosts, or familiars being used
Luck enhancing items, scrolls, or any other items to attach during summons are completely optional. There is no limit to how many items you can attach, but make sure to read the descriptions of the items.
Only one summoning is allowed per submission.
Outside of summoning, players can also participate in Spirit Unveiling up to 3 times per month. This alternative allows you to submit items for a completely random genotype without using specific characters to have a character unrelated to any other characters.
Important Notes
Do not attach traits or markings beyond what's specifically required. You cannot preemptively add other genetic modifications to your summon results.
Your request will be rejected if any required items or information are missing.
Your submission will be rejected if your character is unable to summon, is on cooldown, has reached their monthly limit, or if you lack sufficient summoning points.
Make sure to read item descriptions carefully, as there is no limit to how many enhancement items you can attach.
