Tatsu
Queen of Auctions

Tatsu is a half-elf, half-dwarf with a small percentage of human. Her heritage can be clearly seen, though she tries not to rely on the nature of it to be her own person, not wanting to be seen as stereotypical to her kind.

Thanks to her elven side she can use some magic, though her control isn't as fine tuned. Thus she gets help from a channeling staff in which she wields often. Because of her ability with magic, this grants her the ability to see and sense the Kijis.

Because of the stereotypes that center around elves, she hates her elf side, but doesn’t turn to her dwarf heritage because of it for similar reasons. She prefers to fit in more with general populace and to be seen as a person rather than her 'kind'. She runs a fair auction house, named The Venue, full of pricey but quality items. Very tsundere in personality, she doesn’t get attached to others easily. This causes her to come off as cold and she has no tolerance for thieves and cheaters.

Story

When Tatsu was young, she grew up in a dwarven town. Her mother was an elven lady who had some human in her who was staying in the town and fallen in love with Tatsu's father. Growing up, Tatsu didn't face much discrimination, though was different enough from the other dwarves that they treated her as being 'frail' and 'dainty', much because of her fairer skin and thinner stature. Tatsu hated this, the dwarves saw her as an elf, and the elves saw her as a dwarf. She was both, not one or the other, and the fact that no one seemed to realize this frustrated her. She wanted to be treated as a person, and to do what she wanted to do, not be held to the expectations of her races.

Once Tatsu was old enough she attended school. The academy in the city was fairy advanced, and she learned quite a lot of skills. She learned advanced arithmetic, reading, and writing; Her mother even helped to teach her calligraphy. Noticing she had a talent in magic, the school even put her in a magic class, in which she learned the basics of magic manipulation. However, her mana was unstable, and her wrathful personality caused it to destabilize several times. Thankfully her magic power wasn't that great, but it still caused a great deal of trouble to teachers and staff to calm her when her emotions caused her mana to go out of control.

On her 15th birthday her mother and father gave her a staff the two had made together. This staff contained a power gem, and helped Tatsu control her mana better. Thanks to this staff, she was able to graduate without issue and sought a higher education.
Upon attending a prestigious university, she sought a business major in order to open her own shop one day. As she couldn't, or rather wouldn't, do stereotypical dwarven factory work, nor wanted to seek a job within her elven heritage, she decided instead to turn towards something more average, something she could enjoy that fit her well.
After she graduated, she borrowed money from the bank and opened up a shop in an old cathedral. She remodeled it, and turned it into an auction house. She had a little trouble at first with lack of customers, but after a while business picked up, she paid off her debt, and now lives selling antiques and objects of great value to others, making profit off items which others deem more desirable.
