Mark
The Random Giant
Mark is a male giant; very tall and ditzy. He does have a little human blood in him that makes him shorter than other giants but he's still very tall compared to shorter species. He has very little magic and can't control it, but it's not enough to cause issues for anyone. He likes to be social and be friendly in communication with others. However, he has a learning and speech impediment that causes him to not be able to understand people's tones and makes it difficult for him to realize a topic. When he has a thought, he will speak it, and wants to be a part of conversations that he doesn't fully understand. Though he can speak clearly, half of his sentences don't really make much sense.
He tries to mask this by laughing and pretending everything's a joke. The little magic he has bonded him with Discord, who leeches energy off him and is his only real friend, as most others avoid him. Kijis themselves are much more friendly with Mark than others, as their understanding of intention helps them understand Mark's words more than others. Mark cannot see all Kiji, only Discord and the occasional few others. Many Kiji, who regard him as knowledgeable, happily sit and talk with him despite his inability to communicate with others properly as they can understand his words through intent. His clothes were hand crafted by a friend of his, and he does his best to look dapper.

Story
Mark had a fairly normal childhood. He grew up in a giant village, with his mother who was a single mom. He never knew his father as his mother was a breeder, which is a giant woman who is used to increase the population, and his father could be any number of males. He took after his mother in appearance as well, so one wouldn't be able to narrow it by that. No one cared though, as most giants were treated equal to their build. If they looked tough and were tough, it didn't matter who their parents were. Unfortunately, Mark was neither of those and got picked on quite often by other kids around his age.

As Mark got older, he shot up in height, becoming taller than the other kids. He was very happy, and the kids stopped picking on him as much. Unlike most other giants, Mark had gotten a growth spurt. Unfortunately, after this increase of height, he didn't grow very much afterwards, and after a while he'd gotten surpassed in height again.
By this time, everyone had matured and become young adults in the clan, so the teasing was kept to a minimum. Mark worked on making himself useful, but eventually his odd personality and way of talking got him sent off and he was forced to wander on his own. He didn't mind, and went around to villages working as an escort. People were wary at first, but news of the friendly giant spread around, and he soon made a living for himself escorting people back and forth from town to town.

One such merchant he had protected from bandits and got safely to his destination hand crafted a suit for him as thanks, as Mark didn't have properly crafted clothes. The man said it'd make Mark look like a proper bodyguard, and Mark wore it proudly, taking care of it, and it increased his popularity.
Though Mark works proficiently as a bodyguard and escort, and though he is very friendly, oftentimes his communication issues cause people to avoid talking with him and trips tend to be fairly quiet. He is treated well as an escort, but not as a buddy.
One day while travelling he saw a creature who was covered in mud, struggling to get out of a pit it'd fallen into. At first he thought it was a horse, and he helped the creature out and used his water skin to clean it off. The creature underneath the mud was unlike any he'd seen before, and surprisingly it talked, thanking him. The creature was a Kiji named Discord, and it hung around him to chat, travelling alongside him. The little magic he has bonded him with Discord, who leeches energy off him and is his only real friend, as most others avoid him. He met many other Kijis through Discord, who are much more friendly with Mark than others, happily sitting and talking with him. Despite his inability to communicate with others properly, they consider him knowledgeable and can understand his words through intent. Mark cannot see all Kiji, only Discord and the occasional few others, for what reason or qualification no one knows for sure.
