Spirit Drive Lore

This introspective prompt invites your character to delve into the soul and uncover the driving force that keeps them moving forward, the spark that ignites their perseverance in the face of any challenge. What motivations dance in their heart, urging them to push against the tide and embrace the journey? Draw or write your character in the middle of what represents their drive, whether it's practicing what they preach, or showing off to others, or taking time to themselves to focus on their motivations.

Consider:

• Dreams and Aspirations: Does your character harbor a burning dream they chase? Perhaps they desire to become a master artisan, unravel the mysteries of a forgotten temple, or even build a haven for the downtrodden.
• Responsibilities and Bonds: What binds your character to this world? Do they feel an obligation to protect their loved ones, their community, or even a sacred oath they swore? Maybe it's a promise to a dying mentor, a debt to a rescued friend, or a vow to uphold ancestral customs.
• Curiosity and Exploration: Does your character thirst for knowledge and experience? Are they driven by the insatiable desire to explore uncharted territories, delve into ancient lore, or discover the secrets hidden within themselves and the world around them?
• Legacy and Influence: Does your character yearn to leave their mark on the world? Do they dream of changing the course of history, inspiring others to follow their path, or creating a legacy that echoes through generations?
• Inner Demons and Redemption: Perhaps your character is driven by a deeper, darker purpose. Do they seek atonement for past mistakes, overcome a crippling fear, or conquer a personal demon that threatens to consume them?
• Simple Joys and Purpose: Some find meaning in the everyday moments. Does your character find joy in the simple act of creation, the warmth of community, or the beauty of nature? Perhaps their purpose lies in bringing light and laughter to others, tending to their garden, or simply cherishing the precious gift of life.

Inspiration Sparks:

• Mythological figures: Draw inspiration from the heroes and heroines of your favorite myths and legends. What drove them to face insurmountable odds and embark on epic journeys?
• Historical figures: Consider the real-life individuals who defied the status quo and shaped the course of history. What fueled their passion and unwavering dedication?
• Personal experiences: Reflect on your own life and the moments that ignited your passion or gave your life direction. Can you translate those experiences into your character's story?
• Unexpected sources: Look beyond the obvious! Perhaps a song lyric, a painting, or even a fleeting thought sparks a unique and compelling drive for your character.

Remember, there is no right or wrong answer. The most compelling motivations are often complex and multifaceted, driven by a combination of external forces and internal desires. Explore, experiment, and let your character's unique voice guide you. Unleash the driving force that propels your character forward on their extraordinary journey.

Rules: The art/lit must be true to lore for all characters in the piece, including background characters. True to lore means not only keeping them in character, but keeping accurate to the world and species in the world. Spinoffs and AUs are not allowed to be submitted here. There is no limit to the number of characters submitted per piece or pieces submitted for lore per week.

Requirements: Art submissions must include an intermediate background, and either be in color (Shading not required) or shaded monochrome. Art must be accompanied by at least 200 word literature and all characters must be over 50%. Literature only must be at least 1000 words, and all literatures must show enough detail in the writing about the scene.
