Traits

War Alpha

Rarity: Legendary
Category: Age Group
Species: Kijikaiaku

War alphas are the eldest, and first, generation of kijikaiaku, personally created by Gaia to cull the humans who were so close to killing their own world, as well as Gaia. From their creation a hidden war ensued, as kiji were sent in secret to drain humans of their essential life force and return it to Gaia’s Core, where the energy could be reused to help heal the planet.
Being made with an intentional lack of empathy, they killed without remorse for many years, whittling the population of humans down drastically as their own numbers grew. With the goal of saving the planet, they were ruthless in their methods.
After the war died down, War Alphas became a lot more peaceful.

War Alpha → Yilekith: Having spent lifetimes as Gaia's weapon, these transformed War Alphas find an unsettling familiarity in Yile's grip. Retaining their ruthless efficiency and lack of empathy, they serve Yile with the same cold dedication they once gave Gaia. Their ancient knowledge and combat experience make them formidable, though their loyalty remains a choice rather than an ingrained instinct.

War Alpha → Revoleer: These ancient warriors carry memories of slaughter that make the Revoleer generation's peace-seeking nature feel alien in their bones. They often become conflicted protectors, experienced in violence but yearning for the gentler path their new generation represents.

Post Thinner

Rarity: Legendary
Category: Age Group
Species: Kijikaiaku

Some of the kiji, having not been summoned solely by Gaia, started developing empathy and a deeper understanding of the world around them they fought to save. For some, this sympathy for the humans they slew meant their own deaths, as when they returned to the Core without any collected energy, Gaia locked them out and they eventually faded away.
The energy of these faded kiji condensed into lifeless balls, which were later collected by other kiji and returned to the Core, to be summoned into new kiji later, after the War. These are the Post-Thinners.

Post-Thinner → Yilekith: Ironic, perhaps, that souls once cast out for developing empathy now serve under Yile's banner. They understand loyalty and its costs better than most, having already died once for their convictions. Some serve Yile out of spite, while others appreciate the structure.

Post-Thinner → Revoleer: These twice-born spirits embrace the Revoleer ideology wholeheartedly. Having died once for showing compassion, they thrive as a Tally. Their empathy, the very trait that killed them as kiji, is no longer a weakness but perfectly aligned with their new generation's ideals.

New Gen

Rarity: Rare
Category: Age Group
Species: Kijikaiaku

The New Generation, or just New Gen, of kijikaiaku came some time after the war ended and the world was calmer again. Humans were mostly dealt with as Gaia wished, and those that remained were largely in hiding.
The New Gen were taught of the war, and why it had to happen, but they never experienced it themselves. Interested instead in moving towards the future, they sought to learn of the world all they could, driven by curiosity and wanderlust.

New Gen → Yilekith: Their curiosity and wanderlust now filtered through Yile's influence, these transformed New Gen retain their desire to understand the world, but through a different lens. The Yilekith form's inherent anti-kiji sentiment feels strange and uncomfortable to them, like wearing clothes that don't quite fit, though they navigate it with their adaptability.

New Gen → Revoleer: The questioning nature that defined them as New Gen makes them natural Revoleers. They were always meant to look forward, not back at old grudges they never understood in the first place. They were never invested in old conflicts anyway, now they can explore and learn without the baggage of choosing sides.

Beta-Kin

Rarity: Uncommon
Category: Age Group
Species: Kijikaiaku

Beta-Kin are considered one of the more ‘modern’ generations. Intelligent and curious, and with the war a distant memory, these kijikaiaku seek to learn about all they can, and grow as a species. They’re often more emotionally full and open, as well as sociable and compassionate.
They started appearing around the same time as the long-lost magical species of the ancient world began filtering back into the world.

Beta-Kin → Yilekith: Their compassion and emotional openness creates a tension with their new form. They may serve either side loyally, and remain sociable and empathetic, but now feel an odd, instinctive resistance toward their former species that conflicts with their personality.

Beta-Kin → Revoleer: Perhaps the most natural fit among transformations. Their sociable, compassionate nature flows seamlessly into the Revoleer generation's peaceful ideology, often becoming bridges between species.

Empathizer

Rarity: Uncommon
Category: Age Group
Species: Kijikaiaku

Most frequently likened to young adults, Empathizers are one of the newer generations, following the Beta Kin. Highly emotive and playful, they love and befriend easily.
They know very little, if anything, of hardship or turmoil, and possess an innocence rarely seen among most other sapient species.

Empathizer → Yilekith: Their playful, loving nature clashes dramatically with the Yilekith form's inherent prejudice. Many find themselves confused by instincts that contradict their personality, struggling to reconcile who they are with what their new form was designed to feel.

Empathizer → Revoleer: These transformed Empathizers befriend kiji even more readily than their Tally-born counterparts, seeing no reason why ancient conflicts should prevent new friendships. They barely notice the change in some ways- still playful, still loving, still quick to befriend. If anything, the Revoleer form feels like permission to be exactly who they already were, without any species barrier.

Omegite

Rarity: Common
Category: Age Group
Species: Kijikaiaku

If Empathizers are young adults, Omegites are akin to juveniles. Very similar to Empathizers in most ways, though they tend to desire a more physical presence to better interact with the world around them.
Many of them enjoy interacting with the other species of their world, and a fair few even have friends among the humanoids.

Omegite → Yilekith: Physically present as they always wanted, but now carrying instincts that don't match their friendly disposition. Many maintain their cross-species friendships stubbornly, refusing to let their new form dictate who they care about, while others decide to serve Yile with juvenile disposition.

Omegite → Revoleer: Delighted by their new form and thrilled that their desire for connection across species is now matched by their generation's philosophy. They were already building these bridges, now they have the framework to support them.

Gaiakith

Rarity: Common
Category: Age Group
Species: Kijikaiaku

Gaiakith are the newest generation, often seen as ‘children.’ Having come about around the same time as their Subtalleon “counterparts,” they’re still extremely new to the world and all its splendors and woes.

Gaiakith → Yilekith: The youngest transformed carry the least baggage from their kiji existence. Moldable and new, they adapt to Yile's influence more completely than older generations, though traces of Gaia's touch linger. They experience the world with fresh eyes while grappling with instincts they don't fully understand yet.

Gaiakith → Revoleer: So new to the world that species differences mean little to them. They question the conflict with genuine confusion; why should they dislike kiji when they remember being one?

Yilekith

Rarity: Common
Category: Age Group
Species: Subtalleon

The very first generation of Subtalleons. Generally extremely loyal to their creator, Yile. They don’t inherently get along with Kijikaiaku, as part of the way they were made. They possess a decent amount of worldly knowledge.

Yilekith → Gaiakith: Their loyalty to Yile and accumulated knowledge remain intact, but the Gaiakith form carries none of the inherent prejudices they were created with. Many find freedom in this- able to interact with other kiji without fighting against their own nature, though some miss the sense of purpose Yile's design provided.

Revoleer

Rarity: Common
Category: Age Group
Species: Subtalleon

The second generation of Subtalleons. Not understanding why they’re even supposed to be fighting, Revoleer are often friendly towards the kijikaiaku.

Revoleer → Gaiakith: The peaceful ideology that defined them as Revoleers persists, now in the newest generation of kiji. They often become ambassadors of sorts, carrying their pro-kiji attitudes and cross-species friendships into their new form, bridging gaps with personal experience from both sides.
